DataFlex, MySQL, and Java" For years DataFlex, which is a very reliable and fast database and programming language (Diamond Accounting, Matrix Software and StaffPay use this language), relied on its own proprietary database structure.
Although this database is fast and reliable it falls short to open database structures such as SQL based products. ISSI has been able to work with database developers to bring the power of MySQL, the world's most popular open source database, to our existing programs without making any changes to the actual software code.
This translates into the ability to store and retrieve data using our existing programs through the MySQL database engine. This connectivity opens a big door to our clients who wish to access their corporate data via other ODBC compatible programs such as Excel, Word and Crystal Reports.
In addition, since MySQL is very common in the Linux world, other open languages and programs such as Java, PHP and JSP can use the same database to serve dynamic content online.
What does this mean to our clients?
This means that data changes made via back office software such as Diamond Accounting or Matrix can be instantly accessed via the Internet and vice-versa. No data translation is required.

Data Replication and Backups: Up to now the best form of backup has been a tape backup. This was a lengthy process which has to be done after business hours.
A new technology called data replication is implemented in MySQL. To take advantage of this the only requirement is an additional server accessible via the network. This server can reside locally or at an off site location.
For other types of files, such as worksheets and documents, you can perform hourly, semi daily and daily local backups. This is absolutely a must for any client that cannot afford to be down for any reason.
ISSI has new backup programs in place to host your backup database or perform a remote backup by sending an image file via a secure connection. This can then be used for data recovery in the event of a hardware failure or to replace incorrectly modified or deleted files.

Remote Windows Session: This is the latest and the most cost effective way to give an employee or the business owner secure remote access to the network running a Windows based application such as Word or Excel. Unlike pcAnywhere or GoToMyPc solutions, you do not need a dedicated PC in the office for every remote user that logs in. This option eliminates any need for VPN solutions that can be costly or slow.

Remote Access for NT Servers: This option allows our clients to run a Windows NT Session remotely via a web browser on any computer platform including a pocket PC or a thin client workstation.

We can customize your screens based on the type of information you need to capture. We strongly suggest bar-coded badges to assist you in keeping accurate and secure employee and time clock data.

Portable time clock system: This battery powered device can be mounted to any fixed or mobile structure such as a job site or the inside of a truck or automobile. It does not require electricity or a data connection. Daily or weekly the data is captured via a Palm based PDA and transmitted via the web to your server.

Biometric Hand Punch: This is a wall mounted device that identifies employees based on the size and shape of their hand and a PIN number eliminating any need for id badges or cards.
